Information

Among some groups today, it is being implied that "love" is some sort of new concept and teaching, and previously, before the "new testament" came along, importance on it was not stressed as much.
 This is far from the truth!

Most have never read the instructions of YHWH found at the beginning of the Bible, love is not anything new, it was what the Law and commandments of
YHWH were about, look at the commands from the Law;

Deuteronomy 6:5 "You shall love
YHWH your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might, These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts"

Leviticus 19:17 "You shall not hate your brother in your heart, you shall rebuke your neighbor and not bear sin on him, You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself, I am
YHWH"

Leviticus 19:33 "When a foreigner sojourns with you in your land you shall not do him wrong. You shall treat the foreigner who sojourns with you as one who is native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt. I am
YHWH your Elohim"

The Messiah was being tested by someone, and they asked him what the most important commandment from the Law was, trying to catch Messiah in his words to condemn him, and he said;

Matthew 22:35 "One of them that was a Lawyer asked him a question to test him, Master which is the greatest commandment in the Law?
Yahushua said unto him, you shall love YHWH your Elohim with all of your heart and with all of your soul and with all of your mind, this is the first and greatest commandment, 2nd is you shall love your neighbor as yourself, on these 2 commandments hang all the Law and the prophets"

The Messiah gave a perfect answer that was true.

Many modern teachers are taking this verse and misquoting it and twisting it up, as they do whatever else they can, and saying this declares the commandments given to man through Moses is done away with, and that we only have 2 commandments now, and all we have to do is "love" now.
 However, this verse says no such thing, but rather the opposite, it verifies the Law still stands.

Also,
surely the lawyer would not be pleased if Messiah said the Law was done away with. Such a false teaching fits nowhere into the context of this passage.

When these false teachers tell the masses that they only have to love now, they are going by their own personal interpretation and definition of what love is, which can be a different definition for every different person, but, we must love the way
YHWH has taught us to love, and understand the above verse in context.
 This is how we know the standard of love, and if we do not have standards, then there is only chaotic variations that contradict.

The false teachings are not in line with the context, but are backwards and opposite to what he actually taught us.

So notice he did not say anything like you "now you only have to love", and neither did he say anything like "now there are only 2 commandments for mankind".
 He was answering a question, not changing scriptures, or giving a new teaching, he was being tested and he passed the test in perfection.

He said that every commandment from the Law hangs off of those 2 commandments!

Therefore, unless you are keeping every commandment, you are not loving
YHWH properly and neither are you loving your neighbor fully!

The actual context would teach us to keep every single commandment, and not forsake the prophets, yet some are using this verse to trick others into ignoring commandments from YHWH.

If you love your father
YHWH truly, you would not ignore/disobey any of his commandments and instructions for you, and if you loved your neighbor as yourself you would not dare do anything remotely bad to them, because you wouldn't want anything remotely bad done towards you.

So when you love like this you will keep the entire Law perfectly, so these commands to love are above the others since the rest can hang from them, and they cause you to keep all the others.

So the above verse from the Messiah when read in context teaches us quite a bit about "love".
 There are also other scriptures I can show to reveal how the Bible actually defines love.
 When you read the entire Bible, you learn exactly what love is and how to do it.

All of you out there teaching "love", make sure to take your own advice and truly love, after you realize what love really is.

The disciple John sums up what the love of YHWH is, and it fits right along with what the Messiah said;

1 John 5:1 "Whosoever believes that
Yahushua is the Messiah is born of Elohim, and every one that loves the father loves also the sons of the father. By this we know that we love the children of Elohim when we love Elohim and keep his commandments, for this is the love of Elohim that we keep his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome"

2 John 1:6 "This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, That, as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it"

I'll focus in more, so I make sure no one misses it!;

1 John 5:3 "For this is the love of Elohim, that we keep his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome"

1 John 5:2 "By this we know that we love the children of Elohim when we love Elohim and keep his commandments"

2 John 1:6 "This is love, that we walk according to His commandments.

As you can see, the Bible clearly tells us what love is, and it is not in agreement with modern Christianity.

Loving YHWH is keeping His commandments, loving your neighbor is keeping His commandments, love is walking according to His commandments!

Paul;
1 Corinthians 2:9 "But as it is written, eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which Elohim has prepared for them that love him"

The Law of
YHWH teaches us what love is, without the Law you are unable to love as you're supposed to, because you don't know how.

O
nly reading YHWH's instructions and learning about them for yourself can you realize this fact fully.
 If a person is not obeying the commandments, then they are far from loving, and they're not children of YHWH.

Here is a verse from Yahushua the Messiah where he shows us the connection of lawlessness to being without love;

Matthew 24:11 "And many false prophets will rise up and will deceive many, and because lawlessness shall be increased, the love of many shall grow cold, but he who shall endure to the end will be saved"

Matthew 24:12 "And because lawlessness shall be increased, the love of many shall grow cold"

It is confusion to say disregard the Law and "just love now", because the Bible says that if the Law is disregarded, then love grows cold!
 Love and lawlessness are opposites, it is like an oxymoron for them to include them together in a teaching.

Love and the Law are one. You can not disregard one and only keep the other, since they're one in the same according to the Bible.

Paul says loving your neighbor as yourself causes you to not break any of the commandments, he does not say the commandments are void and we only "love";
Paul;
Romans 13:9 "The commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not covet, and if there be any other commandment, it is summed up in this one rule, Love your neighbor as yourself"

John clearly acknowledges love is not a new commandment, which is obvious since it has been in the Law of YHWH long before John or Kyria was born;
2 John 1:5 "And now I beseech you Kyria, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another"

See for yourself what the apostle Paul has said, that fits to this exact issue happening within modern Christianity that I am going over!
Paul;
1 Timothy 1:5 "The purpose of the commandment is love that issues from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith. But some have strayed and have turned aside to vain foolish sayings, desiring to be teachers of the Law, not understanding either what they are saying, or the things about which they make confident assertions. But we know that the Law is good if one uses it lawfully"

(As a side-note,  A possible example of using the Law "un-lawfully" is:
 Knowing that it is a command in the Law that a sorceress must die, and then lying saying your neighbor or someone is a sorceress, and attempt to get them put to death.
 It is said this has actually happened in history such as in the case of a person coveting their neighbor's land and them trying to get them killed like this so they can just take that land over and use it without it being contested.
)

Finally, I'd like to mention 1 last thing to wrap this subject up,
numerous places in the Bible tell us that if we obey YHWH and keep his commandments... that he will love us!

Exodus 20:6 "But showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments"

...

Remember that John said that the love of Elohim is keeping his commandments? Now hear this quote from Paul!;
Paul;
1 Corinthians 8:3 "But if anyone loves Elohim, the same is known by him"

How do you think he feels about those who do the opposite of love him, and `hate` him?

Misconceptions

"Hate"

There is a false teaching that we must remove all "hate" from ourselves, or else we are bad, and that hate is an evil feeling and emotion.

Many people believing this, indeed transform themselves and become new people and do well from it.

However "hate" is not evil, it depends on where you're placing the feelings of hate that will make it right or wrong.

So of course, hating people is contradictory to how we are told to be.

As well if you're full of hate more than other things, then you obviously have a problem in your heart that you need to work out and purify, and realize all of the reasons that we have to be cheerful, chiefly YHWH is Elohim and he has redeemed his people.

Though the point I will share is, to love very well, you must also hate very much, and the thing in which you must hate is sin/wickedness/evil.

The more you hate what is wrong and bad, the better you will do at loving.

If you listen to the suggestions to erase the hate emotion, then one issue that can arise is that you're at risk of becoming a person who tolerates and allows sin, as it does not offend you greatly, and you don't pay it much mind.

Paul;
Romans 12:9 "Love must be sincere, hate what is evil, cling to what is good"

Proverbs 8:13 "The fear of YHWH is to hate evil, pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate"

Ecclesiastes 3:8 "A time to love, and a time to hate, a time of war, and a time of peace"

Misconception that the Law = Hate

There are some who say that if you keep the Law of YHWH the creator, then you can't be loving, they're implying some commandments are "hate".

The Bible does not agree with that thought, it never says such, that some commandments are evil and hate, but it says the opposite that they're love, righteous, and good.
 As well, we're taught that you're not loving if you disobey the commandments.

We must do what YHWH tells us to do, and he can do as he pleases and his judgment is good and right.
 He is going to reject those who do not obey him and do what is right, so it is very much love when we teach others to obey all of the commandments because it is life to them.

Paul;

Compilation of Scriptures;

By this we know that we love the children of Elohim when we love Elohim and keep his commandments, for this is the love of Elohim that we keep his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome"

1 John 5:2 "

1 John 5:3 "For this is the love of Elohim, that we keep his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome"

2 John 1:6 "This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, That, as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it"

Paul;
1 Corinthians 13:1 "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing, Love is patient and it is kind, love does not envy or boast, it is not arrogant or rude, it does not insist on its own way, it is not irritable or resentful, it does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends"

Since the love of Elohim is obeying him;
Paul;
1 Corinthians 8:3 "But if any one loves Elohim, the same is known by him"

1 John 3:18 "Little children, let us not love in word or talk, but in works and in truth"
